American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld

I bought this book because I thought it would be interesting to read a fiction novel about the president and politics. Little did I know that the majority of this book does not revolve around politics which I enjoyed. It's much more dramatic than I was anticipating. It follows the life of a women from her teenage years living in a small town all the way up until she meets her husband who ends up becoming the President. She goes from being a regular person to the most famous woman in the world. One thing I like about this book is most of storyline takes place before her husband becomes President.
